The Nova Agri Group of Companies is actively involved and committed to various forms of Community Outreach.
Nova Agri & Between the Bushes Restaurant host two fundraisers each year with all the proceeds going to the featured charities. In spring we focus our efforts on the local Alzheimer Society and MS Society. Our fall event focuses on various local children's charities.
Since 2006, The Nova Agri Group of Companies has been assisting Brigadoon with its efforts to build the Brigadoon Children's Village at Aylesford Lake. This camp seeks to assist in the betterment of the lives of children, youth, and families living with chronic illnss by providing teaching, fun and experiential learning and exceptional fun! This past year, Nova Agri, along with photographer Sherman Hines, helped to develop the "Valley Farmers 2008" calendar, which was sold throughout Nova Scotia to raise awareness and funds. The Nova Agri Group of Companies has adopted 8 kilometers of roadway in the Sheffield Mills and surrounding area. Twice a year the company owners and employees collect trash along the designated routes in an effort to sustain our environment and maintain the beauty of our community.
Each year The Nova Agri Group of Companies donates fresh produce to Feed Nova Scotia for distribution to food banks throughout the province. In 2007 alone, 97,000 lbs (48.5 tons) of produce was donated to this worthy cause.
