Nova Agri Inc

Dykeview Farms

Incorporated in 1970, Dykeview Farms Ltd. originated from the family farm on Church Street, Port Williams, Nova Scotia. Earl, Bobby and Neil Kidston were the fourth farming generation on this farm. Originally a 200 acre farm that primarily grew potatoes, grains, forage and beef cattle, Dykeview has gone through several phases of growth and crop changes. In 1976, Dykeview stopped growing tobacco, and added beans and peas to the crop mixture. A hog finisher enterprise was started with the purchase of 400 hogs from their father, Robie Kidston, and over the years, grew to 7000 head annually. The hog operation was discontinued in 2006.

In 1985, anticipating that the market would sustain future growth of the existing marketed produce plus new types of fresh produce, Dykeview Farms strategically formed Nova Agri Inc. as its marketing arm. Nova Agri focuses its attention on developing and serving customers, while marketing the produce of Dykeview and other local farms.

We are proud to be farming in Nova Scotia and would not be where we are today without our large employee base.
