Quality Control

Since quality control begins on the farm, we maintain the best practices in crop rotation and soil management at Dykeview Farms (our parent company) and continually look for new methods to improve produce quality and crop yields. We also take care to ensure that crops purchased from other farms in the area are up to our own quality control standards.

Currently Nova Agri is in the process of implementing an On-Farm Food Safety Program developed by the Canadian Horticultural Council.  Important elements within this program include:

• Personal Hygiene

• Sanitation

• Product Identification

• Product Traceability

• Crisis Management

We have established strict quality control procedures and joined The Taste of Nova Scotia Quality Food Program - a Nova Scotia industry association that sets standards for and monitors product quality.

We are proud that five of our current products - onions, potatoes, blueberries, cranberries, brussels sprouts -  carry the Taste of Nova Scotia branding.
